LEVEL 2 BASIC LIFE SUPPORT AND SAFE USE OF AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFRIBRILLATOR

Automated External Defibrillation (AED) is well established as the only effective therapy for cardiac arrest.

The scientific evidence to support early defibrillation is overwhelming, the single most determinant of survival being the delay from collapse to delivery of the first shock. The chances of successful defibrillation decline at a rate of 7-10% with each minute. Basic life support may help to sustain a shockable rhythm but is not a definitive treatment.

We offer a comprehensive Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) programme based on the necessary theory, backed up with lots of practical sessions. The course is run over 3-5 hours (minimum half a day), and is made as informative, yet as enjoyable as possible, thus allowing the students to gain confidence in what is a new and possibly somewhat daunting skill.

In addition to training we are able to offer advice in areas such as, company protocols, purchasing equipment and on-going help and support with training and development.

Training conforms to current Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines.

Students are assessed throughout the course through a series of practical assessments, designed to test learner knowledge and competence
